Alas, that's it for my weeks of doing nothing but watching tv shows. I'm back at work today, 5:30 wake-up call and all.

Looks like my summer vacation is...over.

Sunday, aside from being oh-god-I-have-to-drive-one-and-a-half-hours-back-to-the-dorms-whyyyyy day, is also my Anime day. Yay! Both the new One Piece and HunterxHunter episodes go live then, so I usually put off packing my bags for a while longer to watch them.

I gush about One Piece often enough, so it's probably pretty obvious that it's my favourite Anime. I started buying OP merchandise lately and after looking through the list of available (as in, available to me) action figures I want ALL OF THEM. If only they weren't so expensive. >.<

I especially love this one - a plush Chopper! And it turns into a pillow! (...wtf?) One day it shall be mine, no matter how ridiculously expensive it is.

HunterxHunter is a remake of an older Anime that was based on a Manga that I used to read a few years back. It's about as classically shounen as it gets - in a good way. However, someone recently remarked that, for a shounen series, it moves along quite fast, and after reading that I realized that yeah, it does. It doesn't rely much on padding or endless reaction shots like some other shows I could mention. <.< Yay for good trends in Anime!

Speaking of good trends in Anime, Chihayafuru is still rocking my life by being the best thing since Baccano. I'm also currently trying to get into Hikaru no Go (again), which isn't going quite as well as planned...

Anyway. Seeing as I've finally found the USB cable for my phone, I can post some pictures of the gyoza I made last week! I made it ridiculously hard for myself (and my Mum, who helped me out), by insisting on making the dough myself, so I ended up spending 2 hours in the kitchen...Totally worth it, though! :D

Have a good week, Internets! <3

+ You guys. Quantum mechanics. Quantum mechanics are awesome. :D Utterly bizarre and confusing, but awesome. This is the topic I've been looking forward to for the last two years, but now we only have about 5 lessons left to talk about it. :(

+ We're going to watch the movie/documentary/whatever it is about BANKSY in art class tomorrow! This is also decidedly awesome.

+ On a more serious note: Regarding the events in Japan, the Japanese club I'm in did a small charity drive. We folded origami cranes beforehand and everyone who donated got one of them in return. My Mom also asked some of her co-workers to donate (and gave them some of my cranes) and all in all, including donations my teacher got from her acquaintances, we collected about 3000 €, which is way more than we expected. All the money goes directly to a school in a small coast town where a friend of my teacher lives. I'm not sure how many origami cranes all of us made for this, but I'd like to think it was 1000, just for the sake of symbolism.

+ I've caught up on the latest episodes and chapters of One Piece and I'd just like to say that Oda-sensei is a genius. I was left in emotional turmoil by everything in the Marinford arc (Oh my god, I cried so much T.T) and honestly can't think of any story in any medium that has affected me this much. Even Wolf's Rain, to which I'm ridiculously attached, and which makes me cry every time I see it, doesn't compare. In hindsight I'm really glad I waited for so long until seeing these episodes, because despite the fact that I spoiled myself ages ago, the events hit me so hard that I really needed the latest chapters of the Manga to build me up again. And build me up, they did. I'm seriously overusing the word 'awesome', but every time I think about the post-time skip events I kind of lose myself in the flailing, so yeah, it is awesome.

These characters have been a part of my life for so long, even if I neglected them for a few years, that every new plot twist and turn and reveal affects me on a very personal level. So yeah. Oda-sensei: king of world-building, character development, amazing plots and making me cry.

(I also just watched the second Movie, which wasn't even written by Oda-sensei, but still made me cry for secondary characters that never appear in the series. So basically, One Piece makes me feel a lot of feelings.)

+ I've also been mainlining Yu Yu Hakusho, an old shonen series. It's really entertaining, even if I skipped large parts of some of the fights, especially during the second arc. Thank god newer Anime don't have to rely on the whole 'use-the-same-scene-tens-of-thousands-of-times-because-we-don't-have-enough-money' thing. When you see a guy running away whose head was cut off just minutes ago, well...suspension of disbelief goes only so far.
Still, it's a good show, and I can see why it was/is so popular. Only one arc to go!

So, this was the first week of my last and most important year at school (AAAAAAAAAAAAA~ I'm so not ready for this). I actually missed the first day because I fell ill on Sunday - caught myself a cold that remains to be very persistent and very annoying but tolerable. And tomorrow is the day of my first...test-thingy at one of the places I send my application to. Very exciting.

Because I feel woefully unprepared for all this grown-up srs business, I've occupied myself with comforting things, like reading&watching xxxholic (OMG I can haz the next chapters plz?) and watching One Piece, which continues to kick ass. If only I hadn't spoiled myself concerning the events after Impel Down...*sigh*

Me and spoilers, that's a strange relationship. Mostly, I quite like knowing stuff beforehand, honestly. In fact, I'm looking for Supernatural spoilers at the moment. When does that show come back on again?

1.Something I saw in the paper just now: A woman is suing a company for rejecting her application because she is a 'Ossi'(a term for people from eastern germany, which can be somewhat derogatory.)What the hell?

2.Despite the fact that I should do more for school now that I'm finally back after about 4 weeks, I've been spending the last week and a half marathoning One Piece (Whoa, why did I ever stop watching that? It's awesome!)and Metalocalypse (Just...don't ask, okay? God, a guilty pleasure if there ever was one.)and have learned the following things:

-Eiichiro Oda is a god.

-Being into bandom and, specifically MCR, has apparently made me think that all managers are called Brian. <.<'' No, seriously, whenever the awesomeness that is Charles Foster Ofdensen came on screen in the beginning, I thought: 'Oh, it's Brian, yay!...No, wait, he's called Charles.'
My brain is strange.
