Previously on Chrisi's Eternal Summer / Who's That Seiyuu / Did You Know I Have A Lot Of Feelings About Anime / this series of write-ups I did:

Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Week 5 Week 6

Like I already said, writing these posts regularly was super fun and actually much easier than I'd anticipated. I'm thinking about how best to keep doing these - now that I'm back at work I really won't be able to watch so many things, obviously, but maybe I can write one post a month or so.

For now I thought I'd pick the new-to-me things I liked best and that I'd most recommend. (Keeping it short because, well, I already wrote about them.)

1. In The Flesh (week 1), definitely! My new life goal is to make everyone I know watch this show because it's amazing and really, really special. Hands down among the top shows I've ever seen, it deserves all the awards.

2. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (weeks 2 and 4). I'd go with the anime over the manga, though both are very good. I just prefer the episode format over the four panel strips. Hilarious beyond belief, never mean-spirited, with a great cast of characters. I love every single one of them. Perfect for when you just want to feel good and laugh for 20 minutes straight. (ongoing series)

3. Haikyuu!! (weeks 1 and 6) I JUST REALLY LOVE THIS ANIME, OKAY? I keep squeeing about it on twitter because it gives so much joy. It avoids a lot of the things that can make other sports anime seem silly, it usually makes me laugh for half the episode and then cry from being overwhelmed with (super positive!) feelings the other half. Emotional investment level at 110%. (ongoing series)

4. Saving Face (week 5). HELLA CUTE. Also code-switching. We all need more happy LGBT movies in our lives, don't we?

Aside from watching/reading a bajillion shows and movies and manga I also had plans to do some other things.

life stuff )

Finally, I also wanted to mention some other stuff going on in my life at the moment. more life stuff )

This post is late because I had a very busy weekend full of various people's birthday celebrations, and yesterday I went to see The Cat Empire for the first time in years, so I didn't have time.  And when I finally sat down to  write, I accidentally deleted my half-finished post, sob. /o\ I can't make myself type everything again, so forgive me if this write-up is a bit shorter than usual.

Revisiting:

The Cat Empire )

The Unlimited - Hyoubu Kyousuke )

Reine Geschmackssache )

Digimon Adventure )

There's only one week left now before I have to go back to work, sadly. Doing these posts was super fun, maybe I'll find a way to continue them somehow.

Oh, and this is very off topic, but did you know that you can view the Japanese amazon in English? Because I just found out about that, so if you'll excuse me, I have to go buy all the Japanese One Piece logs immediately.

Week 1

Hello there, Internets! How's it going? Guess who's (almost) done with Uni? :DDDD Final exams are over, and as long as I didn't fail horribly, all that's left is the oral exam in September and then I'll get my Bachelor of Laws! Hopefully. <.<

While I wait for the results, I have the entirety of July off from work/classes, and aside from editing podfic and exercising, I want to use all this free time to watch A LL OF THE MOVIES and ALL OF THE TV SHOWS and read ALL OF THE MANGA. I made a list and everything. And then I figured, hey, might as well write up some of the stuff I do. So here it is, week 1 of the stuff I watched! (More like 1 and a half weeks, really.) (Whatever.) (Also I contemplated naming this series of posts 'Eternal Summer' b/c Free!, but in the end I didn't.) (Y'all should appreciate my restraint.) (Hah.)

First up, things I ended up revisiting.

Kingdom Hearts )

Baccano )

Sword of the Stranger - Soundtrack )

On to the new-to-me stuff!

In the Flesh <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 )

Hey guys!

Like last year I'll be writing christmas/new years/winter cards pretty soon, so if you'd like one, please DM me (and let me know if you'd prefer a holiday-other-than-christmas or a non-religious card). I very much enjoy going to the post office and sending of cards to as many different countries as possible, so don't hesitate to request one. ;D

Today I went to visit a friend from Uni so she could cook for me. :D We had a great time! First we went for a swim in her boyfriend's neighbours' pool, which, wow, how rich are these people that they have a proper pool, Jesus Christ. After dinner she, her boyfriend and I went to see The Dark Knight Rises, about which I have thoughts! Well, observations. I went in with zero expectations and zero knowledge about the franchise, not having seen the earlier movies, because I kind of don't care about Batman? IDK. I care about exactly one character in the Batman universe, but that is going in the spoilery section.

Before the showing there was a trailer for Bourne Legacy, which got me VERY excited, and Looper, which gave me JGL feelings yet didn't entice me to watch it, and also some other trailers which I kinda forgot about. Now then, onto the spoilery bits:

SPOILERY SPOILERS )

Next week I'm also going to see Brave and possibly Magic Mike. I never go to the cinema unless I do, and then I go frequently. :)

So guess who finally sat down and watched X-Men:First Class? :D :D :D

Thoughts. And by thoughts I mean squee. )

Also, thank god for the really, really good German at the beginning. I might've been tempted to stop watching otherwise, and that would've been a shame.

Anyway - tomorrow I'll be off to Japan! <3(Hopefully I'll have time to watch the new Doctor Who tomorrow morning, because OMG I'm so excited!)See y'all in two weeks!

*sigh* I tried posting a new entry, but apparently lj hates me. So I'll just give you a short rundown of what I wanted to post and elaborate on it later. Maybe.

- I got my braces removed! Finally! It's a bit weird, because I'm not used to the sight of my teeth.

- I bought a proper Sherlock coat! Except it's nothing like Sherlock's coat. At all. But it's pretty and I love it to death.

- I'm going to Japan after all! We'll be visiting Osaka (home of my darling Heiji Hattori, my first fictional crush back when I was like, ten), Kyoto, Kurashiki, Tokyo and Hirosaki. If anyone wants a postcard, contact me. (Except you, [livejournal.com profile] torakowalski. You're getting a postcard whether you like it or not. Muahahahahahaha~ XD)

- Ao no Exorcist is officially my favourite new Anime. I even prefer it over Tiger&Bunny at this point (I disliked that time skip, T&B. I really did.). It has a really interesting way of handling some old shonen clichés and I utterly adore it for that.

- Still haven't seen XMFC, but that doesn't stop me from following the insanely awesome Inception AU. OBVIOUSLY.

- Tonight I'm going to see Bridesmaids with a friend though. Yaaaay. :)

See ya! <3

1. The women's football world cup has started! And while yesterday's game against Nigeria was...not very good, over all it's been quite amazing! It's great to see so many people in the stadiums and to hear so many people talking about women's football. You go, girls! Go get that third star! \^o^/

2.I watched Tiger&Bunny and it A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Not only does it have great animation and characters - it also has great dramatic storylines and is quite funny. Surprisingly enough, it doesn't even trigger my embarrassment squick. This Anime has something for everyone! Superheroes, mecha (kinda), buddy cop show dynamics, slashy relationships...there are only 13 episodes so far and I can't wait for more! <3 Also, Kotetsu really does look like Godot from Ace Attorney, doesn't he? Huh.

3. I have also watched Baccano! again. Sheesh, I forgot quite how much blood and gore there is. Still one of my favourite Anime though. <3

4. Thatguywiththeglasses.com has started releasing the 3rd anniversary videos! So far, Suburban Knights has been hilarious! The whole playground scene? Amazingly funny. I love that they all dressed up and I love that my favourite - Todd In the Shadows <3 - is in it. ALSO! In today's video there was a surprise appearance by someone who I've missed so much on the site! Welcome back!

5. Todd in the Shadows and The Nostalgia Chick are a rl item? How did I not know about this? That is so adorable! <3

6. I'll be in the hospital at the end of next week to get those damn metal plates out of my face - finally I shall be free from that annoying meteorosensitivity!

7. In case you ever wondered, the German word for 'meteorosensitivity' is 'Wetterfühligkeit'. The more you know.

Have a good one! <3

8. Before that whole ordeal I'm going to the cinema! First I'll go see 'Hannah' with a friend and then me and the bf (whom I've decided to start calling 'Irish' in an obvious reference to 'Shadow of the Templar') are going to see the new X-men movie! My slash goggles are ready. ^.~

Have a good one! <3

- asdfghj Hawaii Five-0, how so wonderful? You are making me and my unashamed love of pet names very happy.

-Durarara! Dear god, if that show get's any more awesome I might actually die from bliss. I'm going to finish it tonight and it's going to be epic. <3 Already I'm tempted to say that I love it even more than Baccano!, which is rather impressive, because I love Baccano! with an unholy passion. But Durarara has Shizuo (my love for this character knows no bounds <3), so yeah. :D Shizuo trumps all, even Firo and Luck, as unbelievable as that sounds.

Here, have the openings behind the cut, they're amazing! The music!:D )

I could go on about these Anime forever, but I'll spare you my incoherent thoughts on how clever and epic they are...for now. XD

- Anyone else seen the trailer for Suckerpunch? )

I'm somewhat intrigued by this...On the one hand there are girls kicking ass, over-the-top action scenes and Fantasy stuff. On the other hand, those are not fighting clothes, ladies! And Vanessa Hudgens? Talk about playing against type...

1. The epic epicness that is The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal continues to be epic. Anyone else reading it? And how many times can I use 'epic' in this post? A lot. :D

2. Scott Pilgrim! I haven't read all of it yet, so for now I'll just say that I love Wallace. Like, a lot. Also, Kim and Stephen Stills and Ninja!Knives and everyone else. I've also seen the movie, so I guess I've spoiled myself for the ending, but I just couldn't wait - really liked the look of it.

3. Speaking of movies, I'm trying to see more classic movies. And by that, I mean fandom classics. And by that, I mean every movie I've ever seen referenced in a fandom context, even if it was only once. My definitions, ladies and gentlemen - narrow, they are not.

Stuff I've seen these past weeks: RocknRolla, Sliding Doors (Okay, I haven't seen that one referenced, I borrowed it from my teacher.), Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead (Why hello there, Gary Oldman and Tim Roth), The Road to El Dorado (:D), Reservoir Dogs and Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Yay, Monty Python!).

If I find the motivation, I'll sit down and mainline Star Wars, because I've never seen the original Trilogy and can barely remember the newer movies.

Any suggestions for other movies I should check out?

So, I just came back from the cinema, where I saw - get ready for this - 'Easy A'. And I kind of loved it. I would never have seen it if we hadn't drawn the movie we were going to watch. I remember seeing the trailer and loving it quite some time ago, but from the synopsis I thought I'd hate it. Just...read the synopsis online, okay? I can't be bothered to write a summary right now. I adored Emma Stone's character in this movie, even though she let's herself be used because she feels sorry for others without really thinking about what this will mean for herself...and yeah, the movie has its problems and it ain't the most complex story ever, but it was a lot of fun to watch at the cinema. Something else I loved? Her family in the movie. They were awesome. Also, the titles she uses in her video. Just awesome. <3

On another note, I spontaneously decided to have an appreciation week to tell people who are dear to me that I love them. It's kind of hard to express my feelings when I have to speak out loud - it's really much easier to write something like this down. But I managed to tell one of my friends today how much I appreciate her, and while she was a bit confused (honestly, who wouldn't? How often are you told by someone that they appreciate you out of the blue?) she seemed quite touched. <3

(P.S.: Using this icon because I never use it, even though I love it like crazy. Oh, SGA~ <3)

So, here I am, back from a two day stay with a friend, and BAM! - I have a new laptop. My Dad, proving once again that he is the best, got me a new and shiny one that wasn't too expensive. <3 Once again, I have decided to name it, but I suspect I won't find a name that sticks, as was the case with my last laptop. Anyway, suggestions?

I still have all my files, thank god. The only things that were lost are my feeds and some of my Opera tabs (I had too much of them open anyway, so...). Also, Microsoft Office One Note is doing confusing things, but I'll get the hang of it eventually.

Other stuff I have learned these past days: How to train a dragon (or is it 'your dragon'? I don't know) is an amazingly cute and funny movie. Will have to watch it again. <3
Also: Me and stuff that comes out of the ocean (except for fish)? Not a good combination. :(

Well then, I'm off to catch up on the flist and watch Hawaii Five-O.
