2020 Fanworks round-up

the24thkeyOh hi! 2020 sure was a year, huh. I did create a whole bunch of things I really liked though, so let's round them up.
First up, I wrote a whole lot of words over the last year, and I actually posted 5 works!
the naming of cats is a Stray Kids minsung (but really mostly gen) fic about a witch who is not the best at being a witch and his ever-growing collection of cat familiars. I originally wrote this with the goal for pitching it as a multi-voice recording at europod, but then I...went over the 4k word limit...^^'' Anyway I like this one a lot. It has cats lots of cats and also Sunmi.
wow (the wlw remix) is the newest installment of my lezgeddit verse. Stray Kids, genderswapped minsung, and perhaps the most ridiculous thing I've ever written. Local disaster lesbian Han Jisung and her two best bros lands the internship of their dreams at a big entertainment agency that is Totally Not JYPE. There she meets a very strange dance instructor, and shenanigans ensue.
My Job Here Is Done is perhaps the fanwork I'm most proud of from the last year. It's a fic I wrote for pod_together with knight_tracer, Stray Kids, changlix. It's a magical girl/Cardcaptor Sakura AU about newbie magical girl Felix, who keeps getting interrupted by magical girl emergencies whenever he tries to confess to his crush Changbin. This was the first ever thing I wrote for a deadline/challenge, and it was a cool experience. And also I adore knight_tracer's podfic. <3
From the desk of the Faerie Kingdom Revenue Service was actually written for the podfic challenge Voiceteam, specifically the Bring Your Work to Fandom challenge. As such, it's...letters about taxes to Jung Hoseok, sorcerer and suspected tax evader? ^^'' Because for some reason German tax law applies to the fantasy universe this fic is set in. Just don't question it.
Night Envelops was also written for Voiceteam, inspired by a cover that one of my team members made that reminded me instantly of the Wind Flower MV. So it's Mamamoo, gen with moonsun leanings because of course, and honestly I'm just really happy I finally wrote girlgroup fic!!!! Can't believe all it took was a podfic challenge.
On to the podfic! I posted 17 podfics last year, as usual including my ITPE. Due to, uh, fandom circumstances, I do not currently feel comfortable with two of them, but I will list the rest of them here:
In January I got to visit the lovely knight_tracer and we recorded 4 podfics together!

Yeah, we didn't actually notice two of these had the same title until we had recorded them. XD

the basement kids of garreg mach (Fire Emblem Three Houses gen, an absolutely hilarious story about Sylvaine meeting the Ashen Wolves)
Happy endings (The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke, Andy/Hyoubu, a soulmate story for my most niche of fandoms)
lyrics of an improvised love song (Stray Kids, Minho/Jisung, my skz magnum opus. Kinda fake-dating adjacent)
Radio Friendly (GOT7, Jinyoung/Jaebeom, radio host au)
people say (we're so weird) (WayV, Kun/Ten, outsider perspective from their band mates on kunten's developing relationship
You Only Live Twice (Or So) (EXID gen, for voice team! A funny, short spy au)
We Live in an In-Between Universe (Mamamoo, Yongsun/Byulyi, again for voice team. A super cool space au with amazing, musical world building)
absentmindedly making me want you (Stray Kids, Minho/JIsung, for ITPE 2020. An au where their teachers who go on the world's coolest staff trip to the beach! Summer vibes and lots of Feelings)
Additionally I particpated in a couple multi-voice projects: By the LIght of the Moon (Moana gen), Chuck Norris Isn't A Man With A Beard. He's A Beard With A Man (Harry Potter crack fic) and Lucien's Teachers Just Want Him to Stop Selling Oregano to the Other Students (Dream Daddy)
And that's a wrap. More exciting things to come in the year ahead. <3
